Maid tantrums

 Yesterday, my maid has put me in the 'hands up' situation. She has asked for about 15% pay raise only after 2 months of working at my home. As a working mom, I need a maid for child care as well as house hold.  She used to come for 5 hours a day and was getting paid pretty good. While working in my household, she came to know how badly I need a help and started showing tantrums , like coming late, taking sudden day off etc. And yesterday was the height.

Bring in India has few advantages. The prime advantage is , one can get domestic help very easily. As all the coins have two sides, we also have cons of this advantage. The maids here are not loyal. One needs to change maid very frequently.

I have called a 'Maid agency' yesterday and fix an appointment for new maid, may be for 11 hours now. Lets hope for the best !!!


P.S. I have raised her salary and she has raised her working hours .. A win-win situation..

Monday -- A 'Rebirth' for me..

I love Monday for a special reason. Monday gives a start to my slow paced weekend hangover routine. Every weekend, I become sloth and keeps procrastination. The weekend is the time for family. No washing cloths, no extra cleaning. And my maid also takes a day off on Sunday. So, Sundays are meant to be more bulk cooking, shopping for grocery and outing with family.

 As Sunday evening comes, I start listing tasks for upcoming week and  looking for Monday morning to start a real day of life. I sometimes think that Sundays are totally wastage in my life. But everyone needs relaxation. What do you think??

Being alone by choice..I'm lovin it!!!

After few years of relationship, every woman start thinking about 'WE', rather than 'Me'. When it comes to decision making, woman thinks about what her partner will think, what will be effect on him and so on. And sometimes, we cant take decisions which are correct for us. But if one will get a break from relationship, she start thinking about the possibilities and wants, which she missed in her tenure with some.

I get an opportunity to be single for sometime .. And I am so much enjoying it. I am a mom-to-be and at my parent's place till the time I will deliver the baby and baby will be 3-4 months old.Today, it is exactly 1 month of being single and 5-6 more months, I will be 'Happily single by choice' for more time.. No more waking up early to cook for 2, No more packing lunch, No more fight on finance and money, No more expecting someone to be early at home, No emotional clashes, No more expectation and heartbreak...

Below are few advantages of being single, I found..


1. You can do as you please
2. You can be your own boss
3. You can focus on your career
4. You can be spontaneous
5. You don’t have to deal with other's personal habits
6. You have more time for activities
7. You can control your finances
8. You can appreciate your independence
9. You can gain weight without worrying
10. No one can taunt you for being miser/overspending


I know, I will have this 5 months of being single , and its one time in life opportunity. I am looking forward to enjoy it fully !!!

Attitude-- thats what really matters...

  


   We keep changing our views, ideas and suggestions about any particular thing, but the base concept which is responsible for our behaviors remains unchanged.. That 'Base Concept' is  known as attitude. Attitude is not earned by birth, though your social attire impress attitude at some scale. Thats why we are told to have good friends and rationale surroundings around us. We earned attitude by experience mainly, reading partially and by surroundings at some level only.

   How we experience certain incident  is purely matter of our choice.  We can handle unpleasant incident properly by keeping mind cool and gain at max, or vice versa. The process of handling unpleasant incident with cool mind is known as Positive Attitude. There are two basic processes of positive attitude---1. Keep mind cool 2. Aim at gaining maximum from certain incident. While, two basic course of events are co related with having negative  attitude.---1.Overwhelming 2.Ignoring optimum gain.

   You can get things done by keeping your mind cool. Sometimes , we cant keep our mind cool and get frustrated , due to irrationality of next person. But when we aim at optimum gain , we start looking the thing other person does. Once you get to know what will be the next step of the other person, the fight becomes easy as all strategy are in front of you.  All great leaders gain from positive attitude, why not we???

Overcoming language Barrier...

I did my schooling in vernacular medium and was pretty happy about my language knowledge. Then the time came and I did my UG and PG in English medium. As a part of job hunting, I attended interviews of call centers (this was the fashion to get the job in call centers, few yrs ago, and still it is !! ) Shockingly, I was rejected in each of call center interviews. And the reason behind rejection was simple-- Mother Tongue Influence. Those days were painful. I was seeing my co-students, who were getting lesser grades than I was getting, having Call Center's offer letter and I was still unemployed.

Meanwhile I got married and started working as a trainer in Software field. New marriage, new family, new responsibilities, new city to live in and hectic schedule to cope up. I was in Mumbai and used to travel 2 hrs one way to reach my job. But, I was happy that at least I got a job (!!!)  At one particular time, I was teaching a batch of one student only, she was a wife of a higher official of Reliance Industries, in mid 30s and from Southern part of India. She has been to US for many years. While teaching her, I used to give examples in Hindi also, as I was afraid of my English grammar and was very much impressed by knowledge that she is a rich and foreign return person. She never argued about my teaching style and the batch finished successfully.

As a part of Training Institute's norms, each student fill a feedback form about the trainer. Now, my student gave a feedback about me that technically, trainer is very sound , no one can combat her. But her English is very much poor and she use local language while teaching. That stuck a chord in me... I was very angry firstly, that if she had issue with language, she should have told me before only , rather to complain afterwards. But afterwards, I realized that my fear of language was the biggest obstacle. I must improve in this field. And I started reading more in English, watching more in English. No doubt, my wast reading helped me a lot. And the improvement process goes on.

I had worked for more years as Trainer and never got this kind of complaint(or any other). Now, working in MNC and communicating properly with peers and boss. No one can make it out that I had language issue few years back. But still, when I meet my call center friends, I fell insecure.. ;) May be as they know that I have MTI ... Lol

Buy and forget !!! Thats what I have done many time...

This is a confession !!!

From last many years, I have some weird kind of habit , when it comes to buy cosmetics. I buy most of fancy items shown on glossy pages of woman's magazine. But when it comes to use it, I feel awkward. I feel, I dont go to lavish parties, I dont visit big malls or pubs all time, so , why should I waste my make up ? And in this confusion, the cosmetics became stale and I have to throw it...Sob sob.

Now, you will say me, If I am not using it, I should not buy it. My mother used to tell me always, use what you buy and buy only what you can use. But sometime, I guess, I become obsessive about some specific lipstick, eye liner, eye shadow or even hair accessories. In day to day life, I prefer to use normal make up, which does not need many colors. When I buy colorful cosmetics, I think, some day I will surely use it. That some BIG day never arrives. Last time when I used all my cosmetics properly was 3 yrs ago in my brother's marriage. :)

I guess, all ladies are having obsession with their make up kit. I am purely in love with my lipstick, eye liner, kohl, face cream, eye shadow and even the small small hair clips. What is your obsession??

Multi Level Marketting-- a boon or a trap???

Today morning, I was about to leave for my office, when a neighbor came and started stating me the advantages to join some XYZ company as member in their MLM chain. I was so much in hurry to reach office and she was so much desperate to include me in her chain. She counted many advantages to join it, like money flowing to you endlessly, you can use product of that company with discounts, blah blah blah.. Then finally, I bluffed that we are already members of this MLM chain. suddenly, she lost interest in me and she remembered some work at home. This way, I saved myself.

We Indians are looking for easy money and think that if making 2-3 ppl as member, we can earn for the lifetime, this is an opportunity. And we start making MLM tree. Our this mentality has been identified by some crooks in our country as well as foreigners.And we forget the great principle of Karma and the 'Phorener' proverb-- there is no free lunch. Many people insists their friends, relatives, neighbors and colleagues to join the tree. And the under pressure friends join it also, but then, they dont make anyone else members, and by that the tree never grows. and no one will be benefited by the efforts, but the master minds behind the MLM idea.

Yes, there are some good players in market, who follows MLM as marketing strategy, e.g. Amway. But they are rare. Also, a company can not grow only with MLM . They also need some other strategy. Even the great Amway also have TV commercials.

God saves all of us from this MLM influenced friends,relatives and peers.. Aamen..
